Ronela Hajati’s first solo Italian language single is a sweet and delicious release that shows off the Albanian singer’s playful music ability.
On the whole Caramel isn’t the aggressive and raw piece of music that her Eurovision entry Sekret is despite the dark instrumentation at the start of this new single. Deep and danger-signalling drums soon give way to Hajati’s luscious vocals.
Those luscious vocals sing of a holiday romance and the innocence and frivolity that come with it. This suits the confident on and off-stage character of Hajati perfectly.
The fun and high-spirited looping breakdown chorus match the tone of the story of this track so much that the three minutes rush by.
