Iceland’s Diljá regains control and channels the reclaimed energy into her gutsy Eurovision entry Power.
What starts off as a lyric-laden piece of lounge music in the first verse soon becomes an explosion of industrial synths and substantial basslines.
Power shows Diljá letting go of someone who held her back and being better for it. She unleashes a vocal that could be mistaken for her top range in the pre-chorus, but wait, there’s more. When the singalong chorus arrives, that’s when she reaches top gear. What a voice!
Diljá, the self-confessed Eurovision nerd, scores top marks.
