There’s little that can’t be improved with a sprinkle of Swedish songwriting input. Sarah Bonnici’s Loop is a perfect example. 

The headline names on the revamp of Bonnici’s contribution for Malta are Joy Deb and Linnea Deb. And boy have they worked their magic! 

The song’s original constituent parts remain, but the whole production is way more flavoursome and high-end. The song sounds transatlantic. Bonnici comparing herself to a honey pot is a little on the nose, but not enough to discredit the song. 

Loop’s hook is repetitive and memorable, and that’s more than what can be said of other Eurovision entries this year.
