Iceland: Hera Björk – Scared Of Heights Review

Hera Björk’s Eurovision return is the exemplification of Iceland’s unwavering and dedicated support of artists representing their true selves on the Söngvakeppnin stage.

Scared Of Heights was written not by Björk herself, but with Björk in mind. You’d be fooled into thinking her creative input was all over this. The song is just so her.

The sound is modern up to a point, balanced by nods of nostalgia. The electrified, piano house-infused chorus is utterly contagious, and Björk lends her unmistakable voice to make it enormous. The whole production is full of glee and glitter.

People will say they don’t like this, maybe because they can’t find simple joys.
