Single: Victor Vernicos – The 968 Paradox Review

Complete with an unnecessarily complicated backstory, The 968 Paradox is a long two-and-a-half minutes.

The title comes from overlapping 666, the sign of the devil, and 999, the sign of the angel, to visually create the number 8. Honestly, it poses more questions than it answers and that confusion is almost enough to leave the track unplayed.

Resist the temptation not to be curious and you’ll hear the same BTEC Ed Sheeran sound that What They Say delivered. The sting of a chorus is lazy and practically lyricless – singing a bucnh of “da, da, das” on a song referencing a paradox is disappointingly ironic.

Vernicos, however, sounds great. His voice is soulful and mature for his youthfulness.

Once this boy becomes a man and wiser to his craft, it will be a musical blessing.
