Single: Riley – Lovesongs Review

The Faroe Islands’ freshest popstar, Reiley, has plated up poppy enthusiasm on his follow-up single, straight from representing Denmark at Eurovision.

From the get-go of Lovesongs, Reiley is sounding crisp and self-assured. The synthesised vocals that were synonymous with Breaking My Heart are back too, but a little pared back, thankfully.

Reiley is desperately trying to move on from a lover, but reminders are everywhere. Despite this, he’s thrown heavy, gleeful electronica at the song as an antidote to the heartache. As an extra treat, there’s an expertly executed breakdown chorus.

Lovesongs is a punchy, turbocharged treat of a song that puts Reiley in the fast lane.
